Privacy notice
Last updated Oct 27, 2026
This notice explains what personal data Manifest Scout holds, where it comes from, why we use it, and what you can do about it. It is written to meet Articles 13 and 14 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which applies to us because we are established in Croatia. It applies to you wherever you are.
1. Who we are
Manifest Scout is a trading name of Ant Hive d.o.o. The controller is Ant Hive d.o.o., Brace Radica 41A, Solin, Croatia, OIB 87072518531.
For anything in this notice, write to privacy@manifestscout.com. We are not required to appoint a data protection officer and have not done so.
2. Whose data this covers
- People at US companies that import goods, whom we contact on behalf of our clients. Usually finance, supply-chain or trade-compliance staff, or owners.
- People at US customs brokerages and trade advisories, whom we contact about our own services, and the people we work with at our clients.
- Visitors to this website.
3. What we hold
- Name, job title, company, business email address, business phone number and business address.
- A link to a public professional profile, where there is one.
- Company-level shipping information, such as goods, origins and shipping weights. This describes the company, not you.
- What we sent you and when, and any reply, including an unsubscribe or an objection.
We hold no sensitive data of any kind, and we do not collect information about your private life.
4. Where it comes from
We did not get this data from you. It comes from:
- public company websites and public professional profiles;
- commercial business-contact databases, currently Apollo.io;
- public US Customs vessel manifest records, obtained through a commercial provider;
- public directories, such as trade association member lists.
5. Why we use it, and on what legal basis
- To contact you about services relevant to your business. Legal basis: legitimate interests, ours in business-to-business marketing and our clients' in reaching companies that may need them (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). We have weighed those interests against your rights, and our assessment is available on request.
- To keep a record of who has unsubscribed or objected, so that we never contact them again. Legal basis: legitimate interests, and our obligations under US email law.
- To arrange meetings you have agreed to, and to work with our clients. Legal basis: taking steps at your request and performing a contract (Article 6(1)(b)), or legitimate interests.
6. Who we share it with
- Our clients. If you reply to an email we sent on behalf of a broker or advisory, or agree to meet them, we pass your name, your contact details and your reply to the firm named in that email.
- Service providers who process data for us under contract: Google (email), Instantly (email sending), Apollo.io (contact data) and Hetzner (this website).
We do not sell personal data.
7. Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Our service providers are based in, or store data in, the United States. Where a provider is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, we rely on that certification. Otherwise we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. How long we keep it
- People we have contacted and not heard back from: deleted 24 months after our last contact.
- If you unsubscribe or object: we keep only your email address and the date, on a suppression list, for as long as we operate. Without it we could not make sure we never contact you again.
- Clients and the people we work with there: for the length of the relationship, and afterwards for as long as Croatian accounting and tax law requires.
9. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy;
- correct it;
- delete it;
- restrict how we use it;
- stop using it. If you object to being contacted, we stop. You do not need to give a reason.
Write to privacy@manifestscout.com. We reply within one month. The unsubscribe link in any of our emails also works, and stops all mail from us on behalf of every client.
10. Complaints
You can complain to the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (Agencija za zaštitu osobnih podataka, azop.hr), or to the data protection authority where you live or work. We would rather hear from you first.
11. Automated decisions
We sort companies, not people, using shipping data. We make no decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
